Boat Insurance

Most boats must be specifically insured on a separate policy, or specifically added to your homeowner’s policy.  Although some homeowner’s insurance policies include a limited amount of coverage for a small or non-motorized boat, the included limit is not sufficient to cover the potential liability costs that could come from a watercraft accident. Even if your boat is not worth much, and you decide not to insure its value, it is imperative that you buy liability coverage to protect you or anyone you allow to use your boat in case of injuries or damage to other people’s property. Talk to your agent about your boats or any other recreational vehicles or toys that you use, as there is a higher risk associated with these vehicles that is not automatically covered under your homeowners policy.
